SKILLiT Cooking App | UX/UI Design

Passion project to simplify cooking with hands-free operations for Joe Formica's UX course at General Assembly.

PROGRAMS:
Sketch; Adobe Illustrator; Adobe Photoshop

Final prototype

Inspiration

Cooking is hard, especially in a tiny Manhattan apartment. In my early, single years in the city, my cooking hack routinely was to have my mom give me instructions over the phone while using bluetooth headphones to prevent having to fumble with a recipe book or a phone that keeps regularly goes to sleep.

Out of 10 Interviewees

  • 100%

Of people value cooking even if they do not cook often

  • 2-3x

Is the frequency people cook per week

  • 1-2x

Is the frequency people try a new recipe

  • 70%

Of people usually follow recipes on their phone while cooking

  • 100%

Of people were frustrated with an aspect of cooking

  • 50%

Of people said they would most likely cook more often if it were easier

KEY INSIGHT

People value cooking, but find it frustrating, and would cook more often if it were easier.
